Life is better when a clever cat joins the conversation.

About Sargent Bentley

And that conversation?

Some of it’s verbal.

Some of it’s visual.

And somehow it’s a vector on human quality of life.

Sargent Bentley isn’t a brand from a boardroom.

He’s a living Siberian Forest Cat with a big personality and a tail twice that size — equal parts companion, co-worker, and family morale booster.

He’s a big part of the conversation on healing, happiness, and the pure joy of purrs.

He’s real stories of real life, real thoughts on practical gear, and everyday humor for folks who see their cats as family.

Who is Sargent Bentley?

  • Born by intention in 2025

Sargent Bentley was bred on purpose by a breeder who knows Siberian Forest Cats. She selected Ukrainian parents to create a healthy, hardy representation of his heritage.

These forest breeds—the Siberian, Norwegian, and Maine Coon—are called Landrace breeds, because they evolved naturally in the wild, unaided by humans.

They’re bigger, more adaptable, and more family-oriented than most housecats. In our experience, they seem to have a higher intelligence and sense of awareness.

  • He has many jobs to do

Sargent Bentley joined our family as companion to Shelby, our elderly Maine Coon, who is the last Coon standing among our original Maine Coon Collective. He has quickly become:

    - Companion to Cat, ESA to Human, and Friend to Dog

    - Short-Range Travel Bud to and from dual places of work and home

    - Captain of Adaptability for whatever is on – so long as he’s not closed in, and is included.

  • He brings a ready purr and an easy smile

Sargent Bentley is a melty kitty who purrs on contact. He’ll easily blend into your arm, your lap, or the bed you place him on.

He may pop back up, to pursue a toy he spied with his little eye across the room, or just as readily settle in there, for a nap. He’s the epitome of “easygoing.”

In short? He’s the kind of presence that lifts spirits and turns everyday moments into pleasant memories. For us, a ready purr and an easy smile are a welcome addition to any day.

How Sargent Bentley came to be

The short version?

Family timing, a beloved elderly cat, and a chance encounter with a Siberian who just felt “extra.”

My daughter, Haley Jo,

first came across the breed while house-sitting. Later, as our last Maine Coon, Shelby, aged into her final season, I knew we’d need both comfort and adaptability in the next companion – a cat who could handle travel to our second home & office at Acadia, fit into a multi-pet household, and carry forward the spirit of companionship we’ve come to cherish in these Landrace Forest Cat breeds.

That search led to ‘Silver Tabby Boy,’

who I later named Sargent Bentley—a Siberian Forest Cat, born and raised in America from Ukrainian parents by a knowledgeable New England breeder. He comes with a promised trajectory of health and longevity that our family will appreciate, especially after the unwelcome surprise of the shorter life expectancy of many of today’s bred Maine Coon Cats. We get attached to our fur family. So we look forward to this furry little imp being among us for many years to come.
